Lauren Lindsay
2021 Mississippi Songwriter of the Year Finalist, Lauren Lindsay kicks off music on the main stage at 2:45.
At only 15 years old, Lauren Lindsay has a great passion for music and songwriting. During the initial 2020 Covid-19 school closures, Lauren found a way to deal with the boredom of the extra time at home by picking up her dad’s guitar and teaching herself how to play through YouTube videos. As her parents saw how her dedicated interest in guitar and music progressed, they reached out to Drew Townsend, owner of The Guitar Academy in Kosciusko, and signed her up for lessons. Over the last 2 years, Lauren has studied guitar under Drew. In 2021, Lauren earned a spot in the top 15 Mississippi Songwriter of the Year competition with her original song, I See You. Lauren is from Kosciusko and attends Central Holmes Christian School.
